Time to start counting

This is an interactive hundreds chart or number grid. Maths (and counting) is all about finding patterns. This chart can help you see the patterns in numbers. It can extend as high as you can! So choose a colour, turn on sound if you want and enjoy the magic of counting.

How to use

Use the arrows on your keyboard to move through the numbers. Otherwise you can you your mouse to click or just press the ‘Next Number’ button. Choosing ‘Next Page’ will get you to the next set of numbers.

Skip Counting

You can choose a number to count by all the way up to counting by 12s. Observe the patterns that appear (some are easier to identify than others!)

Random Number

You can choose a random number. Practise saying them straight away so you know them easily.

Hear the numbers

You can turn on sound and hear how the numbers are supposed to be said! Having the numbers read for you can be used to check if you are saying them right. This can be particularly useful for students practising the counting on their own.

Many digital number charts are limited in how high they can go. This application will let you count from 1-100, 101-200, 201-300, 301-400, 401-500, 501-600, 601-700, 701-800, 801-900, 901-1000 and so on. This 100s chart also functions well as a mobile app. It is useful for early learners to help them visualise numbers. It helps with addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. This can be used by teachers in class or in the home for at-home or distance learning. It is useful for students of all ages but I would especially recommend for kindergarten, foundation, prep, as well as Year 1, Year 2 and even Year 3. Generally for primary and junior schools it would be helpful. Schools and colleges are welcome to use it and integrate it as part of their curriculum, units, teaching and learning. It’s a great virtual manipulative for independent work but also for explicit and direct teaching strategies. You can set it up on a smart board and use touch screen or your keyboard to control.
